Important security information regarding your voicemail
Hi, you have received a text message from us because we have restored the code to your voicemail. The code is needed when you want to listen to your voicemail by calling +46 708 222 888 (for example when you are calling from abroad or for some reason cannot call 888 from your mobile phone).
The reason for this is that Telenor has detected an incident where externals have improperly gained access to your voicemail through a so-called bot attack. Telenor takes the incident very seriously and several steps have been taken to prevent similar incidents from reoccurring. The incident was reported to PTS (the Swedish Post and Telecom Authority) on March 10, 2021, case no. 20210309:Ref272. We continue to investigate the incident.
Below you will find more information about the incident, what you as a customer need to do and what measures Telenor has taken. In addition to the information on this page, you should always consider whether you need to take further actions due to what has happened.
What has happened?
Telenor has detected an incident where externals have attempted to gain access to our customers’ voicemails through so-called bot attacks.
What type of personal data does this concern?
If externals have improperly gained access to your voicemail, there may be potential eavesdropping on your voicemail. For proactive security purposes, we have therefore restored the code to your voicemail. We urge you as a customer to always consider whether you yourself need to take further actions based on what has happened.
What do you need to do?
If you normally use your code to your voicemail (for example by calling +46 708 222 888 from abroad or for some reason cannot call 888 from your mobile phone), you must change your code now. You need to choose a new code that consists of 6-7 digits.
If you only listen to your voicemail by calling 888 from your mobile phone in Sweden, you do not need to take any actions.
In addition to the information on this page, you should always consider whether you need to take further actions based on what has happened.

We have identified a risk where externals are trying to access WhatsApp accounts by using our customers voicemail. If your phone number is linked to a WhatsApp account and you have not yet activated Two-Factor Authenticator, we recommend that you do so.
